The HelXAS – Center for X-ray Spectroscopy, University of Helsinki provides a laboratory-scale Johann-type X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) spectrometer designed for high-resolution studies of elemental local environments. The system combines a 1.5 kW Ag-anode X-ray tube or microfocus 100 W source, spherically bent crystal analyzers, and silicon drift diode detectors, enabling transmission, fluorescence, and imaging XAS measurements across the 5–20 keV energy range for transition metals, lanthanides, and actinides.
